What a day to remember at Glenmore Mansion! šŸ‚

Our very first Harvest & Heritage Festival was filled with autumn splendor, lively music, old-fashioned games, wonderful vendors, and the cheerful company of so many who came to spend the afternoon with us. Seeing families enjoying the grounds, friends gathering beneath the autumn sky, and visitors discovering the history within these walls made all the planning worthwhile.

An occasion such as this is never the work of one person alone, and we owe our heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped bring the day to life.

To our talented vendors, thank you for sharing your wares and crafts with us. To our wonderful musicians, thank you for filling the grounds with the cheerful sounds of old-fashioned bluegrass. To our dedicated volunteers, thank you for giving your time and energy so generously. And to everyone who contributed donations and supplies, including Walmart Neighborhood Market Morristown - Buffalo Tr Walmart Supercenter Morristown - W Andrew Johnson Hwy and 84 Lumber Company thank you for helping make our first festival possible.

Most of all, thank you to every guest who joined us. Your enthusiasm and support made this first Harvest & Heritage Festival a day we shall remember fondly.

A little history, a little music, a touch of autumn, and a great many wonderful people. We could hardly have asked for more. ā¤ļø

Several times, Iā€™ve heard the storyā€”a tale passed down over the years of a woman seen standing at one of Glenmoreā€™s windows.

The truth is, there really were people living behind those windows. During the 1970s, 80s, and early 90s, families lived on site in Doll Town, serving as Glenmoreā€™s caregivers and tour guides.

And if youā€™ve never seen Glenmore for yourself, perhaps this is your invitation. Come tour the old Mansion, see what stories you find, and imagine the lives that once filled these rooms.

This Saturday, October 10th, join us for Glenmoreā€™s Harvest & Heritage Festival from 1ā€“5 p.m. There will be makers, artisans, music, hourly tours, and plenty of autumn atmosphere.

A little moment in the spotlight for Glenmore Mansion. āœØ

Our local news recently featured Glenmore, sharing a bit of the mansionā€™s history and inviting East Tennessee to join us for our Harvest & Heritage Festival this Saturday, October 10th, from 1ā€“5 p.m.

One of our own volunteers had the pleasure of telling Glenmoreā€™s storyā€”and sharing what awaits visitors at the festival.

If youā€™ve ever driven past the mansion on the hill and wondered about the story inside, perhaps this is your invitation to finally come through the door.

One of the great pleasures of a historic house is this: you never do know what you might find in its attic.

This one was discovered leaning quietly against a wall, as though it had simply wandered off from wherever it belonged, and settled in to wait. A print, Rembrandtā€™s, 1653: the philosopher Aristotle, hand resting thoughtfully upon a bust of Homer, gold chain and dark velvet, caught in that particular pause between one thought and the next. The original now keeps distinguished company in New York, much admired and duly catalogued. This one, it would seem, had other notions entirely, and has been keeping company with us instead.

One hardly wishes to appear impertinent, but Glenmore Mansion is quite accustomed to attracting attention.

And really, can one blame her?

With her distinguished Victorian architecture, impressive stature, and most elegant appearance, she cuts a rather magnificent figure against the Tennessee sky.

We thought it only proper to give our distinguished lady the opportunity to make a complete impression.

We invite you to admire her from every angle, and perhaps, one day, to step inside and discover the stories held within.
