A bathtub… on a train?
In the late 1800s, railroad tycoon Jay Gould traveled the country in his private railcar ATALANTA — complete with a private bath, elegant sleeping quarters, and richly carved wood interiors.
While most Americans were traveling by wagon or basic passenger cars, Gould was living in rolling luxury.
This beautifully preserved railcar is now on display in Jefferson, Texas, where visitors can step inside and experience how the most powerful men of the Gilded Age traveled.
