Hear it from the Steel Magnolias themselves: before the curtain rises on A Block off Broadway’s production, help Creative Circle of SWLA celebrate those in our lives who embody the Steel Magnolia’s spirit. Whether it’s a handwritten recipe, a generational Magnalite pot, or a particular shade of lipstick, we want to share what represents her to you. Creative Circle of SWLA is calling for submissions! 🌸 What does it mean to be a Steel Magnolia? In the wake of Mother’s Day weekend, and in anticipation of A Block off Broadway Community Theatre’s production, you’re probably already thinking of the Steel Magnolia in your life. We want to share her story alongside whatever may symbolize her to you—whether it’s a photo, a note, a recipe, a jello mold, a cutting from her garden, a particular shade of lipstick, or anything that embodies who she is and the love she pours into those around her.

Submissions can be brought to Zigler Art Museum through May 28th. Tag a Steel Magnolia in the comments and share share share! 👇
