Publix Market Exhibit at Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast Reimagined and Celebrated with Grand Opening
Jensen Beach, FL — August 29, 2026 — The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast celebrated the grand opening of its reimagined Publix Market exhibit with a ribbon cutting and exhibit reveal on Friday, August 28. The updated space welcomed children and families with new opportunities for imaginative play, exploration, and learning.
Building on the exhibit’s long-standing popularity, the refreshed Publix Market provides an engaging environment where children can explore, create, imagine, and learn through play. Children and families loved the new layout and the variety of opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences.
The child-sized registers, counters, shopping carts, and other interactive elements encourage pretend play while helping children explore concepts such as goods and services, creativity, communication, and problem-solving.
“When children come to the museum, they come to play. What they don't often realize is they are learning in the process,” said Tammy Calabria, CEO of The Children's Museum of the Treasure Coast.
"Children learn best when they can explore, create and imagine. Publix Super Markets Charities is honored to support the Children's Museum of the Treasure Coast and the reopening of the Publix Market exhibit, which will provide children with interactive opportunities to learn, grow and discover in a fun and meaningful way," said John Doran, Executive Director of Publix Super Markets Charities.
The grand opening celebration was made even more special through the generosity of Publix and Boar’s Head, who provided an amazing spread of food for guests to enjoy as they celebrated the reopening of the beloved exhibit.
The museum also extends its sincere appreciation to additional community partners who helped make the transformation a success, including Kent’s Painting & Epoxy, Inc. and Tsarnas and Sons Painting. Their generous donations of time, resources, and services are deeply appreciated and played an important role in bringing the updated space to life.
The reimagined Publix Market reflects the Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast’s continued commitment to creating meaningful experiences that encourage children to learn, grow, and thrive through play, while highlighting the positive impact of strong community partnerships.
