EAT/ART @ Tipton Ashe is also FEATURING 👉

BEN CONLEY - creates these small works that are both documentation and abstraction, but rooted in real encounters with the wild.

BIRD HONEYCUTT - uses floriography to create sentimental images speaking to generational attachment, cultural heritage, and the trans and neurodivergent experience.

SUZANNE KOETT - creates artwork that lands at the truthful intersection of art, psychology, spirituality, and science; serving as a reminder that separation from nature and each other is an illusion.

MOLLY ISON - worked in the small space and thematic restrictions of the Tarot pysanky series that created a challenge in making fast decisions about which motifs she found most important and recognizable.
..and these are just SOME of the fabulous artists who appear at Tipton-Ashe!

Opening Reception June 5, 2026 from 6-8pm

✨ EAT/ART @ Tipton Ashe is FEATURING 👉

FAITH BELT -a visual storyteller, seeking the communion of story, style, and humble material… inspired by stories that hold deep meaning like Biblical stories, medieval and Arthurian legends, ancient histories, myths, fairytales, and folk tales.

RUBY BERRY - started tinkering with souped film and emulsion manipulation just as a distraction from her usual style of photography… The more weird things she did to the film, the more she loved the wild and unpredictable results.

LAURA BOWMAN - creates textile art that is a study in tension; a visual expression of the internal chaos of anxiety that appears controlled and harmonious on the surface.

ANNA BUCHANAN - through drawing, seeks to make visible the often quiet negotiations of care, survival, and identity that shape women’s lives across generations.
..and these are just SOME of the fabulous artists who appear at Tipton-Ashe!

Curated by the director of the pop-up dining room gallery EAT/ART space, and housed in the beautiful 123 West Main Gallery in downtown Johnson City ().

From the curator: "I called this group exhibit "GENERATE" because it's a reflection of what is true, and a call to action. I believe it is true that human artists contain immense generative power. I also believe human artists each have a calling to contribute the distinct and vital element that is their self into the community. I hope that this show reveals and inspires us to generate what is next."

YARD PARTY is also *ALSO* FEATURING 👉

KASSANDRA STRANGEWAYS is bringing The Whimsy Machine to Yard pARTy -- a miniature art project with the purpose of distributing tiny art and artifacts into the community. The Whimsy Machine asks that you engage with even the small things and wonder about them.

ANNA WHITTED is an Appalachian contemporary artist from Southwest Virginia. Holding a BFA in Kinetic Imaging from Virginia Commonwealth University, her professional art career began with experimental animation, video, sound, and extended tech media. For the past 5 years, Whitted has created several large-scale, abstract oil paintings experimenting with color and texture to craft ethereal dreamscapes. For Yard pARTy, she is making a piece encompassing growing up in Appalachia and the experience of grief and nostalgia.

DILLON WILLIAMS is a magician and mentalist based in Tennessee with over 12 years of experience. He has performed for audiences of all ages—on stage, up close, and online—earning a social media following of over half a million. Dillon performs alongside his wife, Courtney, who creates amazing balloon art for all ages.

STACIE WILLIAMS is an illustrator and printmaker living and working in Johnson City, TN. From her studio, Asterosperma, she produces original hand-pulled fine art screen prints. Her work, which is extremely colorful and shiny, is typically inhabited by be***al forms, both real and imaginary, but she also drew Dolly Parton that one time. She takes inspiration from classical art, medieval painting, cartoons, and video games. To create this imagery, she uses bold, saturated colors and metallic papers and inks.
..and there are MORE artists yet to come on July 25th from 6-9pm at Yard pARTy!
