Tonight, Sat. 5th was the first of many Gospel Night performances, being scheduled the first Saturday of each month at the Boones Creek Opry . Dr. Enuf presented before a packed house the VIRGINIA BOYS, from Scott County, VA. We had Open Mic following the main performance which was also dedicated to Gospel music.

Live Bluegrass, Old Country and Gospel is presented every Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the Boones Creek Opry located at 632 Hale’s Chapel Road, Gray, TN. Come enjoy some great concessions and performances from groups from our Region and beyond!

The Boones Creek Historical Trust (BCHT) recently completed the installation of new windows and shutters at its museum thanks to funding from the State of Tennessee, through a Tennessee State Museum Capital Maintenance and Improvement Grant of $34,715.

The BCHT museum is in the 1858 Keebler/Keefauver home. Included are displays of individuals and historical events, a theater, and an archive. The museum includes the Bean R***e; which was owned by Tennessee’s first settler and a display on Dr. Hezikiah Hankal, a prominent 1880s doctor, educator, and religious leader of Black descent.

The Tennessee General Assembly included a direct appropriation in the amount of $5 million to the Tennessee State Museum “for the sole purpose of providing grants to museums with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or affiliated with a governmental entity for capital maintenance and improvements”
