The Chuckey Depot Railroad Museum in Jonesborough is currently featuring its newest exhibit, “All Aboard! The Golden Age of Rail Travel.” Step back in time and discover how rail travel transformed America from the late 1800s through the mid 1900s, from early passenger trains to luxurious Pullman Palace cars and iconic art deco streamliners.

Learn how rail travel peaked in the 1920s, carried millions of passengers each year, and later evolved with the creation of Amtrak. This exhibit celebrates the elegance, innovation, and history that defined the golden age of train travel.

The Chuckey Depot Railroad Museum is located at 110 S. Second Avenue at the railroad crossing in Jonesborough.
Hours:
Thursday, Friday & Sunday 1:00–4:00 PM
Saturday 10:00 AM–4:00 PM

Admission is free, and donations are always welcome. Stop by before the exhibit departs at the end of February! 🚂

🚂 The Historic Jonesborough Train Show is happening THIS weekend! 🚂

Join us Saturday, November 15 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center, 117 Boone Street.

Explore railroad memorabilia, model trains, historic artifacts, and more, with vendors traveling from across the country! Plus, enjoy free parking and on-site food trucks.

Admission is $7, and kids under 12 get in free with an adult.

The Chuckey Depot Railroad Museum in Jonesborough will open a new exhibit on Thursday, September 4. 🚂

The new exhibit is titled “All Aboard! The Golden Age of Rail Travel” and will feature the years between the late 1800s and mid 1900s.

The exhibit will display artifacts and stories of well-known passenger trains such as the Santa Fe “SuperChief”, the Pennsylvania Railroad “Broadway Limited” and Southern Railway’s “The Tennessean”.

The Chuckey Depot Museum is open free of charge, but donations are appreciated.

Museum hours are:

March through September: Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, 1–5 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

October through February: Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, 1–4 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
