TRUE STYLE GLASS LLC is the only premium glass artist owned and operated retail store and gallery in Kansas City, housing a high-end glass production facility. Tyler Crane brings six years of industry experience in flame worked glass creation and 5 years of glass retail store management to the company. Tyler Crane started designing flame worked glass in O

ctober of 2008 as an apprentice to several skilled glass artists in an established studio. From the start Tyler was immersed in all facets of glass production; torch work, kiln forming, other flame working techniques, sand-blasting, electro-forming, faceting, and other cold working techniques. From these first experiences to today, Tyler has become enamored with flame-worked glass and continues to expand on the techniques he has learned. Tyler consistently builds on the techniques he acquired from his apprenticeship with dedication and unyielding passion. Tyler is always striving to create new products and push the limits of functional glass design. Tyler began selling his glass art and jewelry at major music festivals such as Wakarusa and Bonaroo in the summer of 2009. He has since traveled the country selling glass at dozens of festivals and retail stores. TSG can be found in shops throughout the Midwest from Nebraska to Arkansas. Tyler has had the privilege of working in numerous studios with some of the most prolific and talented artists in the United States. Tyler’s passion for best in class quality glass sculpture became the inspiration for TRUE STYLE GLASS LLC. TSG was established in the spring of 2010 and later formed the business into an LLC in 2014. It has been a dream of Tyler’s to open and operate his own glass gallery and retail store, with an in-house studio showcasing live flame-worked glass demonstrations and lessons for the public. Tyler’s name has spread throughout the glass community and in 2010 he started teaching aspiring glass-students the art form beginning with basic glass techniques. This has led to the creation of the only public glass studio in Kansas City offering a fully equipped facility with regularly scheduled classes. Tyler has also taken part in many live demonstrations at locations such as music festivals, art fairs, and private sponsored events. Often times these demos provided the opportunity for the crowd to get involved by offering a unique hands-on experience.

I suppose its better now than later to you all that True Style Glass Gallery & Studio will be closing permanently. The decision was made after several factors came into play such as the condition of the building, the building owners desire to sell the property asap, as well as the location is off the beaten path. I have decided to move on to new opportunities in life and will be setting my glassblowing operations up in Lawrence, KS for the near future. Everything in life happens for a reason and I know this new path will be filled with exciting adventure and experiences with new people. Owning a business is like having an anchor attached to you where ever you go it dictates all your choices and thoughts. I am now free again to travel and I will take my business back on the road like I used to before I decided to open a gallery. Coming to a festival near you! I will do my best to reach out to all the important people involved in the store and tie up loose ends, so if you feel we have unfinished business to attend to please do not hesitate to reach out directly, anytime. I especially want to thank any and all of you that helped build the place with me, displayed your beautiful artwork, or just supported one of our many shows and bought glass! We are pleased to announce the grand re-opening of the newly expanded True Style Glass Gallery retail store. Come join us January 29th from 11am to 7pm, we will be open Mon- Sat.
