Only a few spots remain for this rare opportunity. LaDonna Victoriano (Pueblo of Acoma) brings generations of tradition and new artistic innovations to the worktable. Join Victoriano, featured artist in "Native Arts in Miniature," for a hands-on workshop, June 5–7, exploring clay, culture, storytelling, and small-scale making.
A conversation with Victoriano and Sydney Pursel (Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska) will be held on June 5, 6–7PM, to discuss her creative practice, personal history, and artworks’ connection to her culture. Victoriano's son, Jesse Saavedra, will also share about the family practice of gathering art materials from the mountains of their reservation.
Sign up for both programs by visiting the Museum's event calendar at https://toyandminiaturemuseum.org/museum-events-in-kansas-city/.
This project is supported in part by the City of Kansas City, Missouri Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund; the Henry Luce Foundation; the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency; Shook, Hardy & Bacon; Tepa Companies; Travois; and a generous anonymous donor.
