It’s 1976 and things are broiling about salaries for officers, housing permits hit an all-time high, Tracy’s Hindsight is always entertaining, we loved the Kemmerer Coal Company tours, Clarence hooked a 16 pound Mackinaw, Motocross at the track, Teresa is awarded a stipend, and a 30-foot clover chain hampered by Blue,

You’ll never guess who visited the museum this week. The first photo is of the granddaughter and great granddaughter of Bert Sandberg whose clothing is on display behind them. He survived being struck by lightning. The young lady in front of the doctors buggy is a descendant of the Pomeroy family of whom Pomeroy Basin is named. Donna Sedey and daughter are pointing to their great grandfather’s chit with his name stamped on it, he died in the horrific mining disaster of 1923. And Kevin Snyder is sitting in the barber chair of his very good friend Garth Nichols. We are so grateful for our wonderful visitors that bring their stories to share with us.

Nancy Peternal’s display has been moved up front and center to recognize her foresight and showcase the things she was most proud of. According to her daughter Kelly, Nancy was most proud of her family, to have saved the COURTHOUSE and have built a MUSEUM.
Thanks to Nancy Peternal and all she did, we have a beautiful courthouse and museum.
Pictured are Irene, Marie, Janet and Deb who combined their efforts in recognizing just a few of Nancy’s accomplishments.

When in a bind, Willie, Caleb, Marie, Janet and Mike are always there to fix the broken, pick up the pieces, clean the dirty and build what needs built. Incredibly talented and generous folks.
