The Art Station - Big Shanty was built as a summer home for the Rooker family and eventually became their permanent home. Originally located where Kennesaw Mountain High School now stands, the house was moved and (over a two year period) transformed into the arts center we have today. With three multi-media classrooms, a pottery studio, meeting space and a gallery, this creative facility is a cozy

-yet-productive part of the Cobb County P.A.R.K.S. Programming includes classes and workshops in visual arts during fall, winter, and spring quarters; visual and theater camps for children of all ages during the summer quarter; and exhibitions and meeting space for arts-related activities year-round. Both our front and back galleries feature rotating art exhibits with a variety of media. Local artists, schools, and arts groups are all welcome to display their work. The Art Station also is heavily involved in community outreach, with "Art for All" activities available for libraries, Scout troops, and local schools. We had such an incredible time at the Night Market this past Sunday! 🌙⭐It was such a lovely evening with amazing art, good food, incredible performances, and fun activities for all. A huge thank you to all of our staff, vendors, and performers for making it all possible! And thank you to everyone who came out to shop from and support our artists - these events wouldn't be possible without the amazing community behind it all.

We encourage all our visitors to fill out our feedback form linked in our bio 🔗- let us know what is and isn't working so we can host better events in the future! And speaking of future events... coming on August 29th we'll be hosting a new event called the Art Mart!! Stay tuned for more information & vendor applications opening within the coming weeks 😉

It's here! The Night Market is TONIGHT from 5pm - 9pm! Come on out to shop from 30 unique artists, eat some good food, enjoy cultural performances, and create your own free crafts! Our newest art exhibit, U.S. Selected: 13 Korean Artists will also be on display all night long, with special discounted prices on artwork tonight only! We've got lots to do and check out tonight only, so you won't want to miss out!

The Night Market is TOMORROW!! Make sure you stop by our craft & activity zone to make your own craft to take home! As part of our celebration for Asian American Pacific Islander Month this May, you can learn about the history of Foo Dogs and make your own Foo Dog inspired mask. We will also have paper hand fans to decorate, and a special interactive paint-by-numbers mural you can contribute to!

That's right - the Night Market has karaoke! Starting at 8pm on the main stage, you can jam out and sing along to your favorite song as the sun goes down. Sign-ups will be open all evening until 7:45 pm this Saturday.

The fun doesn’t stop with our talented vendors at the Night Market! As part of our celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Month, The Art Station is thrilled to welcome Pheonix Wellness Arts to the Night Market for a lion dance performance! PWA is a welcoming community where martial arts and holistic wellness come together—offering Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Kickboxing. PWA will perform at 6pm and 7pm (weather permitting) and provide an unforgettable experience that you won’t want to miss.
