Fun Fossil Fact Friday! Eoraptor is one of the oldest dinosaurs we know of, having lived around 230 million years ago. That’s why its name means “dawn stealer,” because it comes from the dawn of the dinosaur age.

Extra fun fact: You can see an Eoraptor specimen up close at the Dinosaur Discovery Museum!

We’ve been drawn into something fun 🦖🎨

The Dinosaur Discovery Museum is featured in this year's The Color of Kenosha, a coloring book for all ages featuring the places that make our city special! Illustrated by local artist and business owner Donovan Scherer of Studio Moonfall, this book highlights restaurants, small businesses, and community favorites, including us.

We’ve got a sneak peek of our page to share, celebrating our museum's 20th anniversary this year! Coloring books will be arriving at the museums soon. Whether you’re a dino fan, an art lover, or just looking for a creative way to explore Kenosha, this is a fun one to add to your collection.

Fun Fossil Fact Friday!

Dreadnoughtus schrani means “fears nothing”, a name partly inspired by massive armored battleships called dreadnoughts.

Despite its intimidating name, Dreadnoughtus was actually an herbivore. Paleontologist Kenneth Lacovara chose the name to highlight that plant-eating dinosaurs were some of the toughest and most resilient animals in their environments 🍃
