Hi everyone, we have some exciting news! As some of you know, over the last several months we've been working tirelessly behind the scenes to establish a non-profit organization to support the Tribe's Museum renovation efforts and other public programming: the Pamunkey Foundation. This organization will work to raise funds and build capacity to support Museum operations and improve the lives of Pamunkey Citizens.

We're happy to announce that not only has this organization been formed, but we've also received our 501(c)(3) determination letter from the IRS, meaning all contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible! This is an opportune time to get in on the ground floor, and your support and input will help us develop impactful programming and care for the Tribe's historic and cultural resources.

We'd love it if you would take a few minutes to watch this video highlighting some of the needs we currently face: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFWDQUdOVk8&list=PPSV

Keep an eye out here for more news as we continue to develop the structure and long-term vision for the Foundation. We hope you'll be a part of building something lasting and impactful with us!

Last Thursday, Chair of the Museum Advisory Committee, Matt Gifford, and Museum Director, Andrew Foster, had the chance to take part in Museum Advocacy Day organized by the Virginia Association of Museums. It was an exciting and busy day of meeting with legislators to share all the work we've been doing and to advocate for supporting museums across the Commonwealth.

Thank you to all the Delegates and Senators who took the time to meet with us (including Delegate Alfonso Lopez pictured at the center rear of the second image), and a huge thank you to VAM for organizing this important event!

Some exciting things are brewing around here that we can’t wait to share with you!

With help from Pamunkey Indian Enterprises - Professional Services we’ve been loving the opportunity to chat with folks who have been integral parts of the Museum and historic buildings’ journey. These conversations have been illuminating, impactful, and really drive home the significance of these places, and we’re so thankful to those folks who have been willing to share their stories and reflections with us.

And what outdoor interview would be complete without a lovely filming assistant and emotional support puppy!

We need your help to make sure these tangible expressions of 20th century Pamunkey history are cared for and revitalized! If you want to support these efforts and more, there is a link to the Tribe’s donation page in comments. Just select “Museum” from the drop-down menu. We’re so appreciative of all the support we’ve already received. Let’s keep moving forward together!

Happy New Year everyone! The beginning of a new year is a time for fresh starts and setting goals & intentions. Many of you know that we are refreshing and reimagining the Museum and Historic Buildings' interpretation and use. Groundwork for that major work is already underway, and you've seen some of it here with the Schoolhouse and Pottery School projects. We can't wait to share some highlights of our forthcoming interpretive plan with you, which will guide our efforts as we push forward.

Now we need your help! The work we do in the coming years will lay the foundation for the next generation of service to the community, and it will position the Museum for a bright and innovative future. Become a supporter today and help us bring these visions to life!

A link to the Tribe's donation page is in comments, please select "Museum" from the drop-down menu. Charitable donations to Federally Recognized Indian Tribes are tax deductible under IRC Section 170(c)(1) pursuant to Section 7871.
