The lively art of contemporary rug hooking in Missouri is in the spotlight at our Missouri Folk Arts Program's latest exhibit in their case at the Museum of Art & Archaeology in Columbia. “Folk Arts in Bloom” features art by (clockwise from top ) Georgia Eaton-Adams of Cowgill, Tina Edholm of Columbia, and Dulcy Stewart of Springfield. Missouri rug hooking goes back at least to the 1850s, says MFAP on their “Show Me Folk” blog. “Today, Missouri rug hookers continue to share their passions for color and community, participating in gallery shows, the State Fair, guilds, and social ‘hook-ins’ throughout the state.”
