Itâs the everyday thingsâŚthe stuff we carry with us all the time that often holds the most powerful memories. They are gentle reminders of the revolving memories in our lives. Victoria shared two of those everyday thingsâher bracelet and purseâyet they were unique and meaningful to her. To Victoria, each is reminder of mother and daughter.
The yellow and gold bracelet always on her wrist was originally a birthday giftâtwice. When she was five years old, Victoria saved money to until her piggy bank was full to buy a birthday present for her mom, then she and her dad went the local jeweler in Orlando where they picked out the bracelet together. Dumping out all the money from her piggy bank, she âpaidâ for it, while her dad secretly slipped to the cashier the credit card. Her mom wore until it was passed back to Victoria when she herself became on mother on her OWN birthday! THATâS RIGHT...Victoria and her daughter have the same birthday!! In the delivery room, her momânow a grandmotherâtook the bracelet off her own wrist and put it on Victoriaâs as a birthday gift.
Her Dooney and Bourke purse also reminds her the cycle of motherhood too. First off, the all-weather leather handbag can be rained on (we promise this is not an ad)!! Second, her mom had them when she was a kid and now she has her ownâalso gift from her mom too!
Third, the gold medallion with the unmistakable duck logo strung from the purse has tied mother and daughter together for two generations. When momâs hands are full, daughter holds the medallion so they donât separate. Victoria wore down her momâs gold duck to held it so much and now her daughter is doing the same thing.
Gold duck. Gold bracelet. Thatâs not just history, itâs her story.
