POSSIBILITIES will take the audience on a trip through the Knoxville Museum of Art, interacting with circus performers, dancers, and the art. Next Friday, join us at the Knoxville Museum of Art for Cocktails & Conversation: Preserving Pasaquan, an engaging evening exploring the creation, preservation, and enduring legacy of Pasaquan, the remarkable seven-acre visionary art environment created by self-taught artist Eddie Owens Martin, known as St. EOM.

On Friday, September 11, preservationist Michael McFalls, along with Charles Fowler, will take us deep into the Pines of Marion County, Georgia, to explore the story of Pasaquan—from St. EOM’s creation of this extraordinary artist-built environment in the 1950s to the ongoing efforts to preserve his visionary legacy for future generations. Under the stewardship of Columbus State University, Pasaquan continues to thrive as a living work of art and a place for creative discovery.

The evening’s conversation offers a special opportunity to learn more about St. EOM and Pasaquan in connection with No-Man’s-Land, currently on view at the KMA through November 8, 2026.

Enjoy a relaxed evening of conversation, refreshments, and a cash bar before and after the lecture. The lecture begins at 6:00 p.m.

We join our region and the world in mourning the loss of Dolly Parton, a true Tennessee legend whose extraordinary life and legacy are woven deeply into the fabric of East Tennessee.

Dolly Parton’s impact on East Tennessee reaches far beyond the music she gave the world. She showed us that you can carry where you come from with pride, dream as big as you dare, and use your gifts to lift up the people around you.

Her legacy lives in the songs she wrote, the stories she told, the opportunities she created, and in the countless people who found a little more courage to dream because Dolly dreamed first.

She never forgot where she came from. And she spent her life showing the world that where you come from never has to limit where you can go.

Her songs will continue to echo through our mountains. Her stories will continue to be told. Her generosity will continue to change lives. And every month, somewhere, a child will open a book with their name on it and begin imagining a bigger world. All because of Dolly.

We are grateful for the life, creativity, compassion, and enduring love for East Tennessee that Dolly Parton shared with us all. She will be profoundly missed. ❤️‍🩹
