As we approach Easter, I turn my thoughts to spring.
When we were in school, spring was the end run to Summer Break.
Most of us were preparing for time off from school:
Lazy Days at home- free from our prying parents.
Going to Myrtle Beach or down to Florida
Getting a summer job
Burning through our paycheck instead of saving for that car
Hanging with our friends.
Walking around the suburb looking for something to do.
Going down to the park for a game of pickup basketball or baseball.
Some of us would resume our lives as Mallrats...

A few of us, and eventually all of us, would be getting ready to graduate or leave school (you know who you were).
Some of us would be getting our first real job, working full time.
Some of us were enlisting or getting drafted in the military.
Some of us were going to our first college.
All of us were getting our first taste of adulthood.
Some of us would be avoiding it at all costs for that last desperate moment of being forever young.

A few wouldn't make it.
Right there at that moment,
School Days would become the stuff of legends.
We would eventually be telling stories about our Glory Days.
The good times, mostly, even though at the time they probably weren't as good as we remember them now.

Spring was more a wind-down from school and study
and a
wind up to Summer Activity.

Depending on your age and generation, whether you were a
Townie, a Burby, or a Country Boy/girl
these activities would vary a lot.

I like to think about those days in my mid-fifties now.

Let's share some of our late spring Glory Days.

This week's question.
Was there someone you wanted to ask to prom but didn't and who did you go with?

We are back open following the winter break, come and see us.
Find out who that pretty girl, handsome guy, or annoying clown was back in 10th grade!
