Artist Julie Fawn Boisseau-Craig is our featured 3d artist for June. Join us at our 1st Friday reception from 5:30-9 on June 5. Julie
works primarily in porcelain and glass, incorporating metal and wood as needed to create intricate sculptural installations. In addition to her large-scale work, she produces functional pottery and wearable glass art at Wild Pony Studio in Rockford, Tennessee. Her hot shop glasswork is created at the Jackson County Green Energy Park in Dillsboro, North Carolina where she is now the Project Manager as well.
Julie has taught at Western Carolina University, Southwestern Community College, and the Oconaluftee Institute for Cultural Arts. She has exhibited nationally and actively participates in workshops and demonstrations, sharing her knowledge and passion for craft.
Her work reflects on the fragments and contradictions that shape our lives—how disparate elements come together to form memory and meaning. Through the layering of materials and ideas, she invites viewers to connect with their own personal experiences and emotions.
Julie earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in December 2012.
She currently teaches a wide range of classes in glassblowing and lampworking at the park and also instructs at the Southwestern Community College Heritage Arts Center outside Bryson City. A passionate maker and dedicated educator, Julie has been a resident artist at the Green Energy Park since its founding, and her presence continues to shape and inspire the creative community.
