We are thrilled to announce that Kathie R. Kerler will be a judge at this year's International Quilt & Fiber Arts Festival!
Kerler has been judging since 2002. She is certified through the National Association of Certified Judges (NACQJ) and has judged over 200 shows at the national and regional level.

Kerler graduatwd from the Institute of London City & Guilds in design and embroidery, and studied at the Lesage School of Needlework in Paris. For seven years she was a contributing editor to American Quilter Magazine. Kerler is a fiber artist herself, and an international award-winning quilter.

For fiber artist Terri Shinn, trees have become a source of never-ending fascination and inspiration. Besides their wonderful textures and diverse colors, they embody amazing lines and shapes, which Shinn explores and honors in her incredibly detailed vessel series.

Shinn creates fiber layers to mirror the many layers of tree bark. Using hand stitching, machine embroidery, hand-dyed fabrics, needle and wet felting, Shinn produces her intricate studies of nature.

Terri Shinn resides in Snohomish, WA. She is a member of , and a serves on the board of the . Her textile art has been featured in numerous books, regional, national, and international shows.

Help establish the QFA Museum's first ever natural dye garden! Saturday, May 30th from 11am-2pm in the museum's side yard🦋

Local textile artist will facilitate a free community work party to get the garden going!

Join us in learning how to plant and care for marigold, indigo, dyers chamomile, coreopsis, and cosmo, all plants that can be used to create a variety of beautiful, natural hues🏵

There will be plant starts for sale so that you can go home & plant your own natural dye garden🌱

The dye garden will be used for ecological education, natural dyeing workshops, and will be a beautiful gathering space for humans and pollinators alike🐝

We are honored to announce that Shelley Socolofsky will be our Fiber Arts Judge for the 2026 International Quilt & Fiber Arts Festival!

Socolofsky is an internationally recognized artist and weaver working between craft and technology. She received her MFA from the University of Oregon, after previous training with master weavers at the Manufactures des Gobelins in France and the historic Jacquard training center, Foundazione Arte della Seta Lisio in Italy. Socolofsky currently teaches at Portland State University.

In her artist statement, Socolofsky writes, "By tracing the looms evolution, I explore how textiles have always been more than fabric: they are structures of communication, archives of labor, and networks of meaning that remain urgently relevant today."

Our volunteers are vital to the museum! They run the gift shop, welcome visitors, prep activities for Family Day, assist with Artist Receptions, install artwork, and SO much more!! You couldn't hope to meet a more talented, wise, funny, kind, and dedicated group of people. Thank you, volunteers! We love you!
