Many of you have heard that we are in the planning stage to expand the museum. After minimal thought and nominal discussion, we have determined the best course of action is to add an aditional floor. This is a view of the new facility with the expansion that will include more office space, collections storage, a lounge, game room, hot tub, and four-star hotel accomodations for our visitors. Have a happy April Fool's Day!

Celebrating National Retro Day: Did you know the "World Champion Barbed Wire Splicing Contest" was conceived and first held in La Crosse, Kansas in May 1967. Rules for the competition were developed by Kansas State University Extension Service in Manhattan. Armco Steel Company (now AK Steel) sponsored a competition at the Kansas State Fair in the early 1970s. The portable units used for the contest were designed and built by Flame Engineering of La Crosse.
