deline Island opened in May, 2009 in an 1890s home built by Ed Valley. The building has been completely remodeled to create the gallery. Much of the material for the building was purchased from a local saw mill, with local craftsman completing the renovation. Bell Street Gallery is less than 50 yards from the shores of Lake Superior and just a short walk from the Island ferry landing. Our Gallery focus is local, contemporary and traditional fine art. We proudly show the work of over 40 local artists, with additional work by artists inspired by Madeline Island and Lake Superior. We are known for work that conveys a strong sense of authenticity, with the hand of the artist in clay, metal, jewelry, sculpture, printmaking and painting. Bell Street Gallery is constantly changing and evolving, so please stop by to see some unique new work to complement your home and art collection.
