Thought y'all might enjoy some memories of the first thirty of so years of RR skiing. Here's about twenty of the 1000 I have archived from miscellaneous material found in the chalet attic at the start of my Red River Cloud project. The last shot is Drew, PG LaCome Ron Pockrandt and Thom Brown at ski school lineup circa 1977. Is that Dee selling tickets? Then Toni Woerndle in a junior ski calcutta. The that's Thom Brown on top of the old snowmaking pump house at the top of what is now the Platinum chair. Who do you recognize?

33 years fly by!
Thought you might enjoy a family ski day with Robin & Elke May taken in 2004. Robin taught a few seasons at RR, is now Ski School Director at AF, and a member of the NM Ski Hall of Fame. Elke also teaches AF, and all over the world! Happy B'Day, Elke!

The person Wheeler Peak was named to honor.

On this day, October 13, 1871, Timothy O’Sullivan the official photographer for Lieutenant George M. Wheeler’s geographical survey west of the 100th meridian, took the first-known photographs of Grand Canyon. This is a photo of Diamond Creek. Sadly, most of O’Sullivan’s glass plate images shattered during transport back to Washington D.C.
