Pershing Days summary. The annual meeting for election of board members was held at 10:00, adjourned at 11:00 and then the party began! The silent auction, wine and cheese tasting and gun raffle was fun for all and helped our finances greatly. Our gross revenue for 2019 was $4,482.50 with total expenses $1,114.99 for a net margin of $3,367.51. (Actually this is $500 better because the Emery Wood Trust donated $500 toward silent auction items to be purchased, that is included in the general donation figure below). Mum sales total $660 and expense of $261 for a $399 margin. General donations received Saturday total $3,350 and we picked up one new life member at $150. General expenses: newsletter and postage $323, framing 3 pictures to display Pershing litho's $120.50 and Mr. Clean Shine $300. Honestly, the old building has never looked better. A hearty thank you for all the board members who helped. A big thank you to Terry Milford for getting our Model T truck running, and to drive it in the parade.
For the first time in history, the K-State and U. Nebraska Pershing drill teams color guards combined for a wonderful performance that is now standardized as a yearly event at Pershing Days. The National Commander is looking at other ROTC units in Missouri that may want to join this team.
This year's party got off to a very sad incident as Claire Devoy broke her hip on Friday while helping with the building prep. Claire had hip surgery Friday night at University Hospital and She is already home in Brookfield recovering! This brave woman is an inspiration to us all. We all love you, Claire!
