Guess what just pulled up!🚜

We have an exciting new update parked in the CMA. Located in Wee Acres (our toddler-designated exhibit), we are pleased to share a brand new, locally hand-crafted, kid-immersive tractor! CMA kids can now climb in, steer the wheel, and cultivate the fields of their imagination.

This tractor was generously crafted and donated by an anonymous donor in Acadiana. We are honored to receive and share it with you. Be sure to check it out on your next visit!

This is your October 6th - 11th CMA Week of Play Schedule!

🚍We have large field trips on Wednesday - Friday. You may want to avoid these in favor of a calmer museum experience.

👶Toddler Time is happening Thursday at 11 am. Designed specifically for little ones aged 1 to 4, we combine the magic of story time and the joy of music for a half-hour of fun.

🚗We will be, “On the Go!” at Parc de Oaks’ Pumpkin Patch, Festivals Acadiens et Créoles, and Kiwanis’ Zydeco Pancake Breakfast this week. Catch us in all the hubbub for family-friendly activities and crafts to keep the kids occupied!

🧏Sensory Mornings at the Museum is happening Sunday from 9 AM - 11 AM. This free program for children with sensory sensitivities allows the CMA to open early, with dimmer lights and fewer people to provide a sensory-friendly environment where kids can explore the museum at their own pace. 🔗PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED at the link in our bio.

We are wishing you a wonderful week, Acadiana! Please stay tuned for more exciting programming to come!

So grateful for the continued support of the Junior League of Lafayette!

We can’t wait to transform Wee Acres and create something special for our littlest learners.

2026–2027 Collaborative Opportunity Grant Recipient

On September 2, Junior League of Lafayette awarded $4,000 to the Children’s Museum of Acadiana for the Wee Acres Exhibit Transformation.
This project will refresh the existing Wee Acres exhibit and transform it into a calm, welcoming, and development-focused learning environment for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families.

The updated space will remain hands-on and accessible while intentionally supporting developmental milestones through play.

We’re excited to support an environment where young children can explore, learn, and grow through meaningful play experiences, helping build a stronger foundation for the youngest members of our Acadiana community.
