This is your June 23rd - 28th CMA Week of Play Schedule…and it’s a busy one!🪿

🚍We have field trips on Tuesday - Friday. You may want to avoid these in favor of a calmer museum experience.

🐝Sunshine and Clay Hive will be at the museum this Tuesday from 10 AM - 12 PM with an information and viewing table of a live bee hive. Check it out to learn beekeeping and taste some local honey!

📖Elista Istre will be reading her book, “Josette & Friends Cook a Gumbo” this Tuesday at 3 PM.

🐊See a baby alligator with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries this Wednesday, from 10 AM - 12 PM.

📖Erin Rovin will be reading her books, “It’s Hot in Louisiana” and, “It’s Raining in Louisiana” this Wednesday at 11 AM.

🤸‍♀️The Little Gym will be replacing Toddler Time this Thursday with a movement class at 11 AM. Geared toward ages 5 and under.

📖Denise Gallagher will be reading her book, “A Tip Tap Tale” this Thursday at 3 PM.

🧶We’re making Pom Pom Poppers this STEM Friday. Stop by between 10 AM - 12 PM to check it out.

🧜‍♀️Mermaid in the Lotus: An Interactive Musical Story Adventure with Susan Grain is happening this Friday at 3 PM.

⭐️Join us for Star Wars Day this Saturday from 10 AM - 11:30 AM. Expect space-themed crafts and character visits with Bast Alpha Garrison, 501st Legion.

Park Bistro is catering CMA’s Magic in the Making, and we could not be hungrier!😋🍽️

We sat down with Peter Cooke, founder and chef of Park Bistro, to get the inside scoop on what to expect from Magic in the Making’s menu.

Magic in the Making is Children’s Museum of Acadiana’s adults-only fundraiser celebrating 30 years of play! Tickets support hands-on learning, community access initiatives, and the continued growth of the CMA for generations to come.

Guests will experience the museum after hours with live music by Three Thirty Seven, curated bites by Park Bistro, signature cocktails, and interactive entertainment.

🫟Join us for Messy Media: Shaving Cream Art this Tuesday from 2 PM - 4 PM. Fun for all ages!

💦This Wednesday, from 2 PM - 4 PM, we will have our first Water Play Day of Summer ‘26! Expect sprinklers, sensory water tables, and bubbles! Just bring your own towel and a change of clothes.

☀️First Solar will be hosting a pop-up this Thursday featuring solar bugs and education on solar energy from 10 AM - 12 PM.

👶Toddler Time is happening this Thursday at 11 am, free with admission! Designed specifically for little ones aged 1 to 4, we combine the magic of story time and the joy of music.

🔬We will have digital microscopes out for play this STEM Friday. Stop by between 10 AM - 12 PM to check it out.

🗡️K-Pop Rumi from Acadiana Princess Parties is visiting the CMA this Saturday from 12 PM - 1 PM. Expect pictures, autographs, and other adventures with your favorite K-Pop Demon Hunter.

Through hands-on activities exploring generators and motors, campers discovered that STEM isn't just something you read about, it's something you can build, test, and experience.

🤲Join us in the CMA courtyard this Wednesday from 2 PM - 3 PM for a sensory bin play day. Expect 1 hour of sensory play involving themed rice bins and dino-dig bins. Fun for all ages!

🧏‍♂️Sensory Mornings at the Museum is happening this Sunday from 9 AM - 11 AM. This free program for children with sensory sensitivities allows the CMA to open early, with dimmer lights and fewer people, to provide a sensory-friendly environment where kids can explore the museum at their own pace. 🔗PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED at the link in our bio.
