We have some exciting things happening at Artist Eye Gallery. Firstly, we are featuring the work of Laura Rice Robinson for the month of February. Come check it out on Laguna Artwalk on First Thursday February 5, 6 to 9pm…
Secondly, we are welcoming 2 new guests artists, Mercedese Bantz and Tashia Peterman.
Here is how Mercedese describes her process:
« I have been creating works of art since I could grasp a paintbrush. I grew up in a very small town in Illinois and I´ve enjoyed nearly 45 years of creating both fine art, commercial illustration and licensing art. For the past 30 years I’ve lived and worked in Lake Forest, CA.
I’m currently working in acrylic, on both board and canvas. I love color and leaving little bits of
unexpected color the viewer can find when looking closely at the image. I usually start with a background and underpainting that is entirely unrelated to the finished painting. »
And this is how Tashia describes her path:
« I work primarily in soft pastels, gouache, colored pencils, charcoal, and watercolor. I love capturing the simple beauty in nature, landscapes, fantasy, still life, and everyday moments - creating pieces filled with light, warmth, and positivity. There is too much darkness in the world, so I choose to create from beauty, inviting viewers to pause, smile, and reconnect with happiness and joy. »
