My art journey began over fifty years ago when as a young girl my favorite gifts
were a box of markers and a sketch pad. I doodled, sketched, and colored on
everything. I studied design and a few art classes in college but my true art
journey began a good 20 years later. My husband and I were at the Getty
Museum in Los Angeles looking at some beautiful Monet and other impressionists
paintings when I had such strong thoughts overcome me…. The first one was
“How lucky are they that they got to live their lives creating beautiful paintings
and work with color,” The second thought was “ I need to paint!” Then the real
journey began. I began focusing my goals and my time and resources on
taking art workshops from favorite artists, reading everything I could get my
hands on, but most of all painting many hours a week. In a few years people
were asking to buy them and then I kept reinvesting in professional supplies and
more workshops. If you have a dream – do it, invest in it, practice, practice,
practice and be patient with yourself while you get better at it!
We live by the coast in Southern California, and so I love to paint seascapes in
oils, love to paint abstracts in oils or acrylics and floral still lifes and now exploring
painting the figure or people in paintings.
I love to paint, can’t wait to wake up and paint. Some of my favorite days are
when I surprise myself painting something new or in a different way. Love seeing
what comes onto the canvas…. Bold brushwork or subtle value contrast or a
highlight on a cliff or subject that pulls the painting together.
My work has been accepted into juried shows and exhibitions, and
commissioned for commercial and residential projects.

My paintings can be seen at the Laguna Art.com Gallery – Artist Studios
at 305 N. PCH, Laguna Beach, California across from the Laguna Art Museum.

Gillian began her education as an art major but a naïve fear of poverty lead to a career in fashion comprised not only of form and construction but logo, textile and storyboard design.

In the wake of NAFTA’s effect on the garment trade, Gillian established a career in technology, initially in sales and eventually as a project manager. She continued to create art and was awarded ribbons in local fairs, however 2018 marked the start of an explicit art career.

Textile design informs her work utilizing printed elements derived from labels, packaging and magazines to create typically irreverent but sometimes earnest artwork. However a dual perspective; one detailed and the other a more generalized image or theme is consistently evident.

Recent publications have included:
Adolphus Press (inaugural issue) 2018 Winter
Ponder Review 2019 Spring

Michal Jedrak was born in Poland into an artistic family and from his early years he traveled to distant places and even lived for seven years in Bogota, Colombia. After his return to Europe, as a teenager, he developed an enormous interest in photography as a medium and, by the age of 19, Michal had started his formal photography career. Being an avid traveler, he visited and documented his journeys across Europe. His places of most interest are Greece, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and England. Now it is time for California.

Michal has graduated from Warsaw University with a Master of Arts degree. He is passionate about analog (film) photography and combines all the advantages of the 'old' medium with the benefits of the 'new' digital workflow. His photographs are considered timeless because they are a mixture of traditional (i.e. analog, classic) composition, texture and the precision of the digital age. Most of Michal's works are scanned negatives transposed onto light-sensitive, chromogenic paper. For more information about Michal and his work and teaching, please email [email protected] or visit his website at www.jedrak.com.

To me, color is everything! I breathe color, I live my life in technicolor and love to wear fashions inspired by great art. My art was the vehicle I knew early in life would carry me through my creative journey as an artist who loves to work in collaboration with other artists and designers who share similar passions! Born in central Persia in 1974, Neda Badiei is blessed with a unique artistic talent that makes her paintings literally come alive. Many years of intense study across the world has enabled Ms. Badiei to display a passion unseen by most other contemporary artists. The fascinating element for her was the interaction of many cultures and ethnicities, which Neda has incorporated into all of her oil paintings. Subjects vary from incredibly detailed portraits, scenic landscapes, breathtaking wildlife and animals, and charming still life paintings.
