Bring the little tricksters by for a pre hollowed treat !!!!
Children under 12 get to tour for free with purchase of an adult tour

The Mardi Gras museum does pumpkins too!!!

Join in on the hike through the great pumpkin trail at Tuten Park, 3801 Nelson Road. The trail is open October 23-25 from 9am-7pm. This is the 3rd annual pumpkin trail for the City of Lake Charles.

Thank you to the museum volunteers for decorating the pumpkins: Bernice Zachary, Dorothy “Dee” Leger, Mary Fontenot, Kelly Fanguy, Judy Fanguy, Kandi Myers, Beth Meuller, Kathy Taylor, and our Director David Faulk.

David O'Quinn is credited with bringing large Mardi Gras costumes to Southwest Louisiana. The Founder of Krewe of Illusions, O'Quinn's costumes sometimes reached 18 feet in height and 12 feed in width.

Shaped by Cajun and Creole traditions, and a rich combination of other influences, Lake Charles offers a spirited mix of events, memorable dining, and outdoor appeal.

We loved welcoming a group of travel writers to the Museum as part of Explore Louisiana’s recent press trip hosted locally by Visit Lake Charles. 💜💚💛

During their visit, we shared the stories, traditions, and craftsmanship behind Mardi Gras of Southwest Louisiana, from our elaborate costumes and krewes to the customs that make Carnival season here so unique.

Opportunities like this help us share our culture with new audiences and give visitors another reason to experience Mardi Gras in Southwest Louisiana year-round.
