Lake Mary Museum

Lake Mary Museum Encompassing the past, present and future of Lake Mary, Florida. Our building was built in 1926 and A Non-Profit Organization.

The Lake Mary Museum exists to preserve and promote the history of the city and the surrounding area. Efforts to maintain and enhance the museum are accomplished by members of the Lake Mary Historical Society and other volunteers. The museum houses a collection of artifacts, photographs, documents and other materials related to the history of Lake Mary and the surrounding communities. The artifacts housed in the museum have either been donated or are on permanent or temporary loan.

With school starting in Central Florida in the next week or so, we want to make aware our museum to all the homeschool groups in the area. We welcome school groups along with homeschoolers to our museum to learn about our local history and how our pioneers lived. We invite all Seminole County Public Schools and homeschool groups to come visit our museum in October for the 100th Anniversary of Lake Mary Elementary School. The exhibit will have artifacts, pictures, schoolbooks, etc. There will be other activities to participate in. We look forward to seeing you all soon. Did you know May is Military Month? Today, May 17 we invite you to come join us to see our Military display inside and outside of the museum!! There will be military vehicles in the parking lot along with a laser gun tent. Inside the museum is our display of military and Florida History. Suzanne, our resident genealogist will have a table inside to help those find their military ancestors. The genealogy is a donation to the museum.

The Modeler's Club is also meeting today at the Museum. Bring the kids and enjoy a day at the museum!

Lastly, Sterling's Fudge has teamed up with us for the summer as a fundraiser where all the proceeds of the fudge sales will go to us! Stop by today and learn about our Florida History, what role the military played in the wars and sample some great fudge! See you there!!
