Ephraim Pottery

Ephraim Pottery Handcrafts Arts & Crafts inspired pottery celebrating nature in our rural Wisconsin studio since 1996 We invite you to experience Ephraim Faience art pottery.

Ephraim Pottery is a small, independently run studio whose employees have been making Arts and Crafts style art pottery by hand in America since 1996. Ephraim Pottery's original designs and glazes are inspired by the beauty of nature and by the Arts and Crafts aesthetic. At Ephraim Pottery, the philosophy of the Arts and Crafts movement is still as meaningful and valid as it was a 100+ years ago.

Our dedication to our work and to each other is reflected in the pottery we create. By choosing to buy beautiful handmade art from Ephraim Pottery, you are promoting an American ideal and helping to create a more sustainable economy. Discover why we say that Ephraim Pottery is more than pottery - it's a lifestyle.

Every Tuesday morning, we send an email.
It's where new limited editions are announced first. Where we share what's happening in the studio — pieces in progress, glazes we're testing, the occasional story that doesn't fit anywhere else.
No algorithm. No ads. Just pottery and the people who make it, straight to your inbox.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, the link is in the comments.

A look inside this week at what goes into making our new Studio Collection pieces.
It starts on the wheel — a form thrown, checked, measured. Even shapes our artists know by feel still get measured every time. While the clay is wet, it gets our studio mark. A small thing, but it means this pot was made here, by us, start to finish.
Then the handwork builds — leaves attached one at a time, buds shaped and placed. Glazing comes last, with each color brushed on by hand. Where one glaze meets another is where a lot of the finished character comes from.
Nine artists. One studio. Every piece by hand. Browse the new Studio Collection — link in comments.

Chapter Two in our Storybook Series is here — and it's a rabbit.
Hand-sculpted in low relief on a soft, dusty blue glaze. The same gentle rounded form as the first chapter, now with a rabbit that seems to know more than it's letting on. Available as a handled mug or handleless cup, limited to 300 pieces total.
Our Mug of the Month pieces are part of the Ephraim Elemental functional line — wheel-thrown, watertight, food and microwave safe. Made here in Lake Mills by our team of nine artists.

This week's POT of the Week is the Little Flowers Vase — and it's one of those designs that rewards a second look.
Slender stems climb the full height of the vase, each one ending in a small, fan-shaped bloom. Soft cream against matte green, shifting from warm sage at the top to a deep purple-olive, grounding into a dark black base. The incised linework gives the whole thing a quiet, steady rhythm.
Simple and graphic — rooted in the Arts & Crafts tradition. Available for one week only, through 3/17. Link in the comments to order.

The 2026 Studio Collection is live — our 30th Anniversary collection.
Thirty years of handmade art pottery, still made the same way: wheel-thrown, hand-sculpted, glazed individually by a team of nine artists in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Every piece in this year's collection carries the 30th Anniversary mark pressed into the foot alongside the initials of the artists who made it.

Studio legend, 25+ years running.
Back in 1999, a collector called us with a tip: there was what looked very much like an Ephraim pot on Candace Bergen's mantel in that month's Architectural Digest. The photo was small. The pot was partly hidden. And Bergen is standing right in front of it on the cover — her head falling exactly over that spot on the mantel.
If that's our pot, we were almost on the cover of Architectural Digest. Almost.
Leah found a copy on eBay to settle it once and for all. The jury is still out.

This week's POT of the Week is the Who's in the Orchard Miniature Vase — $168, wheel-thrown and hand-sculpted, with a barn owl keeping watch from an apple branch.
It's a miniature version of one of our past designs, and every detail has been scaled down. The owl's expression, the ripe fruit, the orchard greens. A small piece with a lot of personality.Available here: https://ephraimpottery.com/product-category/pot-of-the-week/
New pieces every Tuesday in our email newsletter.
