ABOUT THE WEEK OF AUGUST 7, 1976...
Ellen Curry, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Curry, won the Hamilton County Obedience trophy with her smooth collie, “O’Corra’s Nefertetti,” at the graduation exercises conducted by instructor, Charles Randall, at the Indian Lake School grounds.
This was the second time that Ellen had won the trophy (with two different dogs). She was also awarded a Blue ribbon (first place) at the Warren-Hamilton County and state Fair at Syracuse in 1975. Ellen also showed her dog in the breed ring where she had picked up several firsts.
Michael (Chip) Jacobs captured the Highest Scoring Collie Obedience Award at the Southern Adirondack Kennel Club Show, on Saturday, August 8, 1976, with his Rough Collie, “O’Corra’s Molly B.” (pictured in a photo from the Hamilton County News in August, 1976). Molly B was the daughter of the Curry’s homebred champion, Crystalbrook Sean’s Pawn Am Canch. Crystalbrook Sean’s Pawn captured the Best of Opposite S*x award at Mohawk Valley KC Show, August 7, 1976 while his son Ch. O’Corra’s Blu Litnin took Best of Opposite S*x the following day at Southern Adirondack KC Show, Saturday, august 8, 1976. Both were owned and bred by Orpha and David Curry of O’Corra’s collies, Blue Mountain Lake, New York. — file photo
