Patrick Pierson: A TABLEAU OF DREAMS, NO LIMITS

Born Patrijk Anton-Piers in 1953 on the outskirts of Utrecht in the Kingdom... of the Netherlands, the artist changed his name to Patrick Pierson in 1991 when he and his family immigrated to America. Initially represented and published by the Meisner Gallery in New York City, Patrick eventually settled in Palm Beach and established the Fyshwerks Com

pany - a fine art studio, smithy, display gallery and publishing house that would become the birthplace for the creatures that were destined to inhabit the realm of Planet Zootopia.

In the aftermath of the total devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, KamalJoe flipped her middle finger at people desperately pleading for help, while she went hobnobbing with the glitterati, begging them for campaign contributions. What a reprehensible little oaf this KamalJoe truly is!

"I am Dodo, neither black nor white but rather fluffy, and I'm beaky to a fault. I am Zootopian, but from the cut of your genes, I'd say your apple didn't fall far from my tree. I am life itself, the wayward whim of several billion cells to be you for a little while. I am the mote in the Eye of Providence, the thorn in the Lion's Paw, and as such, I am as spiritually enlightened as I am secularly incredulous, though I often enjoy a short respite with the agnostic. I am your alter ego, the avatar of your dreams. And like a candle in this dark, demon-haunted world of yours, I am your lifeline. I am Ethos, your beacon of righteousness in a sea of decadence and debauchery. I am Logos, the voice of reason when waves of tumultuous doubt cloud your mind. I am Pathos, for I carry the burden of your woes and summon the wind as you sail in pursuit of your bliss. I am actualized by a certain, fastidiously fishified fellow, but I am realized by all the folks I've ever met: Thou hast breathed life into me and given me a reason for being, and for this I am eternally grateful. I am Dodo."

This article was published on October 25, 1992 when I was 39. FYI, the reason the sub-head reads, "Superior man drops apron for paintbrush" is because I resided in Superior Township in Ypsilanti, Michigan at the time.

NEWTON'S LAW

"Like the faint memory of her scent, she lingered. Hauntingly so. I recalled Miss Molly Mawkins glancing over her shoulder as she sashayed up the stair and into the coach, the forlornity in her eyes, still fizzing with desire, and her whispered words echoed in my mind: "It's for the best." That and the hissing steam made me think of all things locomotive, and it hit me -- she had pushed me away in order to move herself forward. Call it Newton's third law of love. Yet all I know of women is the extent to which I remain utterly clueless." - I. Newton Deaudeux
