We would like to acknowledge our fearless and dedicated volunteer of 50 years, Lloyd Zeager. After completing Voluntary Service in Washington DC, he set out to major in History at Goshen College. He was recruited by the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society and has been with us ever since. He is often found sorting books for the Book Auctions and Bookworm Frolic. His laugh is unmistakable and is a treasure of knowledge. Thank you Lloyd, for 50 wonderful years!

Who doesn't love a good cup of warm tea?

Did you know the Mennonite Visitors Center sells fairly traded products from our partner Ten Thousand Villages? A product highlight is the Meow Mug, handcrafted from Nepal. Sana Hastakala, which means "small handicraft" in Nepali, is a nongovernmental, nonprofit export organization based in Kathmandu. Sana Hastakala works to preserve the rich artistic skill and traditions of Nepali artisans, and provides additional training and marketing assistance to artisans. Eighty percent of the artisans are women; most artisans are uneducated. Ten Thousand Villages has purchased products from Sana Hastakala since 2001.

Mennonite Life is hiring a full-time Retail Manager to manage retail inventory, analyze customer behavior, manage and sort book donations and consignments, and organize retail-related events, including book auctions and the large annual used book sale. The Retail Manager works across all sites to ensure seamless profitable retail environments and marketing strategies. The Retail Manger plans and executes retail-related events, coordinating year-round with volunteers, staff, and others related to event planning. Job candidates should have proven experience with retail sales and marketing and event planning and have excellent interpersonal skills. Thanks to everyone who came out to our Author Talk with Jenny Gehman last week as she read excerpts from her book, Little Life Words. It was a delightful gathering where people could refresh their soul and hear wonderful stories of Jenny's life and journeys. Attendees also shared what words God has used to impact their lives.

The Visitors Center recently welcomed one of the creators of a build-your-own scale model tabernacle kit! The kit contains over 600 pieces, includes instructions accessible in any language, and is compatible with Lego.
