Join us for Hands-On History Day and experience the past through three interactive workshops: step into a one-room schoolhouse lesson, learn how wool was processed, and try your hand at the Pennsylvania German folk art of Scherenschnitte, or paper cutting.

There’s even more for students to explore throughout the day, including costumed interpreters and craftspeople, historic buildings, a visitor center exhibit, an orientation video, and a site-wide scavenger hunt.

Hands-On History Day is Thursday, November 5, from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. Come spend the day exploring, learning, and experiencing history firsthand!

LVA Members and children ages 5 and under attend free. Admission for all others is $13.

At Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum, preserving history means more than caring for buildings and artifacts. It also means keeping the living traditions of Pennsylvania’s agricultural past alive: including the heritage-breed animals that are an important part of our historic farm.

Thank you to everyone who visited, demonstrated, and helped out last weekend for our annual Harvest Days! We wanted to give a couple of special shout-outs for their help over Harvest Days weekend:

When we discovered a flat tire while setting up the tractor-drawn wagon rides, was able to fix it and make sure everyone still got to enjoy a ride around the village!

JC Snavely & Sons was also kind enough to donate wood to help repair a gate that had seen much better days. Special thanks to one of our volunteers, Dennis, for putting in the work to fix it!
