This Sunday...
The Lansing Historical Society will be hosting “Billy, A Kansas Boy”, a book written by William Henry Wenzel, performed by local actor Ken Church, April 29, 1 to 3 p.m. at the Lansing Historical Museum, 115 East Kansas. Church will present oral interpretations from Wenzel’s memoir.
This will be the second occasion that Church has presented this program. The first time Bill Wenzel was present for the presentation. He passed away Feb. 3, 2018.
The book tells the story of Billy growing up in a typical small town in Kansas from 1927 and ending with a story that happened in 1949. Lansing was quite different than it is today. Residents had the feel of a true community with its’ downtown, hotels, restaurants and bustling train stations.
Wenzel's book will be on sale with all proceeds going to benefit the Lansing Historical Society.
