I recently completed this painting of this wonderful site south of Lansing and across the road from the historic Wexford stone church. Like most all my work lately I was really interested in the space and light. Several years ago I created a spring painting from this same place and drive by it often as do most who spend time in the Lansing area. I have been wanting to revisit it in paint for quite a while.

The original oil painting measures 16 x 48 inches and it I can be seen at our gallery at 271 Main Street, Lansing. Reproductions in various sizes and greeting cards featuring this image are available as well.

My oil painting Winter River Morning, (16 x 48 inches) is heading to Vientiane, Laos where it will hang in the United States Embassy in the Southeast Asian country. I was asked to loan the painting by Ambassador to Laos Heather Variava. The details of the two and a half year loan and the shipping arrangements are being facilitated by the Art in Embassies program, part of the US Department of State. This is my fourth embassy loan through that program!
