If you would like to commission a custom portrait, I charge by the hour, due to many factors affecting how much work is involved (eg, size, subject(s), details, darkness, etc.). My rate is $150/hr. By way of example, a large and dark piece (like Angelina in my profile pic) takes about 20-25 hours.

Commissioned work includes an up front $300 consultation fee. This would entail: (1) a videoconference to discuss what you’re looking for and to go over possible reference photos, (2) receipt and evaluation of several digital reference photos to determine optimal conversion to a black and white charcoal portrait, (3) follow up videoconference to discuss decisions for beginning the project.

All portraits are sealed, matted, and placed in a basic frame prior to delivery to protect the integrity of the delicate artwork. While buyers are welcome to obtain their own custom frames based on their personal display aesthetics, please be aware that removal from original frames can expose the art to damage risk. I recommend taking it to a professional framing service which guarantees safe handling.

It's been 7 years both since this sweetheart was born and since I've had the opportunity and energy to do a full size portrait. Time to resurrect the charcoal.
