What’s the password this week? 🤫🥃

This week’s password is “Mountain Dew,” a phrase historically used in Ireland as a nickname for poitín, a traditional high-proof spirit often distilled illicitly in remote mountains and bogs.

The phrase appeared in America as early as the 1800s and later became associated with illicit moonshine during Prohibition. Its Irish roots also nod to our upcoming public program, “The Westies,” which explores the violent history of New York City’s Irish Mob.

Whisper “Mountain Dew” at The Underground’s secret door to gain entry.

Take a break from scrolling and let our bartender make you a drink. 🍹

Today, we'e mixing up one of our signatures, the Moonshine Mayhem. Made with moonshine distilled in-house at The Underground, this cocktail blends pineapple and tea with a sprinkle of cardamom for a bright, herbaceous finish.

Come pull up a chair and try one for yourself. And send this to someone who’s overdue for a speakeasy night. 🥃✨

Who misses the golden era of Las Vegas? We do. ✨🥃

Meet the Golden Indulgence, a rich, decadent cocktail made with cognac, banana liqueur, chocolate, brown sugar, and cream, finished with a dusting of nutmeg.

A little old-school Vegas indulgence, served by the glass. 🍸

This will satisfy your weekend cravings. 🤤 If you’re visiting The Underground, try the Colcannon Crisps!

Inspired by colcannon, a traditional Irish dish made with potatoes and cabbage, this shareable puts a speakeasy spin on a classic. Crispy kettle chips are piled high with Irish cheddar, bacon lardons, green onions, sour cream, and pickled cabbage.

Salty, savory, cheesy, and made for sharing... if you’re willing.

Let’s explore one of Las Vegas’ best-kept secrets. 🍸✨

Hidden inside The Mob Museum is The Underground, a speakeasy where the lights are low, the cocktails come with stories and the past feels just a little closer than it did outside.

Every weekend, live jazz fills the room as bartenders pour Prohibition-inspired cocktails and serve up delicious shareables.
Send this to a friend who loves history, hidden gems, and a good speakeasy.

An actor, performer, and humorist, Will Rogers became one of America’s most recognizable voices by finding humor in the controversial issues of his day.

According to the Journal of the American Society for Ethnohistory, Rogers worked the vaudeville circuit and headlined the Ziegfeld Follies as a political comedian and trick roper before turning much of his attention to journalism, radio, and film.

Throughout the 1920s and ’30s, Rogers starred in 71 movies, hosted a regular radio show, and penned more than 4,000 syndicated columns. His signature wit took aim at politicians, gangsters, government, and, of course, Prohibition.

Rogers also developed a distinctive writing style that often ignored conventional grammar, a trait that became a trademark of his later journalism and helped capture the conversational, folksy humor that made him such a recognizable voice of the era.
On August 15, 1935, Rogers died in a plane crash alongside famed aviator Wiley Post.
