Movie making returned to the Nathan Lester House Museum recently as scenes for work in progress saw transformation of the 18th century keeping room into a modern day (if traditional) setting.

With a working title of “The Plan,” this film uses scenery around southeast Connecticut and into Rhode Island, including interiors and grounds of the Lester House.

Another storm…

They all are to be heeded, but they come and they go. This one is just today’s.

Ledyard High School Carolers continued their tradition of sharing seasonal songs with the community at the Nathan Lester House for Yuletide.

It was a bright, clement day for early December after a very frosty morning - perfect for music outdoors and a crackling fire.

The greening of the house…

The Ledyard Garden Club spent the day today creating beauty from greens they’d gathered from their own gardens, adorning the Nathan Lester House for Yuletide on Sunday afternoon.

Continuing a long tradition, but taking a different approach each year, the Garden Club not only greens the Lester House, but makes wreaths for all major town buildings. Together with the Ledyard Historical Society, these original partners have made the museum what it is for over 50 years.

Join us Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 for carolers, refreshments, and greeting your neighbors.
