On Saturday, September 26, take a quick break from the hustle and bustle of the Lenox Apple Squeeze, and stop by Ventfort Hall for a special apple-themed light tea service! Pop by the mansion for a casual spot of Simpson & Vale Apple Cinnamon Coffee Cake Tea and special autumnal treats. Join us for a fall afternoon tea service at Ventfort Hall, featuring a light tea offering that offers a sampling of items that can be found at our formal afternoon teas. Enjoy a delectable tea sandwich and a variety of special sweets in the comfort of our Dining Room, or take your treats to the outdoor veranda.

Before or after tea, enjoy general admission to the museum with a separately purchased ticket.

It’s Apple Squeeze Month!! We’re excited and getting ready… Including preparing this special Apple Squeeze exclusive Salon Series lecture all about Johnny Appleseed! Come hear the true tale of John Chapman, aka Johnny Appleseed, whose personal mission was to bring apple orchards to the American frontier. Born in Leominister, MA, he reached folk lore status with his eccentric ways and religious zealotry. Lecture takes place at 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM on Saturday, September 26.

Not every ghost story begins with a tragedy. In the case of Ventfort Hall, it begins with a love story.

George Hale Morgan spent the final two years of his life at the Lenox estate, where he lived until his death on April 28, 1911. Many believe he never left Ventfort, where his spirit remains watching over the mansion's day-to-day activities and special events. But why?

Local author Jennifer Huberdeau posits in the recently published "Haunted Travels Anthology Vol. 2" that Ventfort Hall was more than a country home to the couple; it was an extension of their love. In her talk, "Ventfort's Gilded Age Ghosts," she will speak about the significance of the Jacobean mansion to the couple, as well as how George was particularly connected to the grounds. She'll also speak about the paranormal activity attributed to George by the many individuals she interviewed and share her own paranormal experiences.

"Haunted Travels Anthology Vol. 2" is a collection of haunted travel stories curated by paranormal author and medium Sam Baltrusis. This collection features 17 haunted locations, including Newport's Belcourt Castle, the Stanley Hotel and the RMS Queen Mary, with an introduction by Poison's Rikki Rockett. Huberdeau's contributed "Ventfort's Gilded Age Ghosts" to the anthology and served on the book's editorial team.

The lecture will be followed by a Q & A and the famous Ventfort Hall English Tea Service.

Our final Summer Saturday Light Tea Service is this Saturday, August, 29 at 12:30pm. This uplifting midday delight is self-served from a spread traditional varied tea offerings, as well as some chilled refreshing beverage options accompanied by a pretty spread of dessert nibbles and, of course, the famous Ventfort Hall cucumber tea sandwiches! 🥒 Keep your eyes out for some fall tea services to be announced….!

Ventfort Hall, a beautiful Gilded Age estate in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, has inspired many tales of ghostly encounters.
