OPENING TODAY! Our June exhibition features abstract work from seven artists utilizing paper, mixed media, and fabric collage.

Included in the show is Elizabeth Brandt, a Michigan-based mixed media artist!

Elizabeth is a former graphic designer who worked in advertising and illustration until she began working as a full-time artist in 2010. Elizabeth creates abstract sewn and collaged work using stitching as an expressive element, one that doesn’t just hold the elements together but adds texture, color, and dimension, resulting in sculptural pieces. Elizabeth was recently featured in the book Cloth: 100 Artists by Lena Corwin.

While "Abstract Constructions" officially opens today and is available for all to see, the artist reception, where some of the exhibiting artists will be in attendance, will be held next week, on June 6!

Joe Milligan's stormy beach scenes are pretty reminiscent of the weather we've had recently.

Joe's watercolor paintings evoke a sensitive and emotional sense of time and place. He attributes this to a keen sense of observation, the subjects and their surroundings. In Joe's paintings, you can find beauty in the overcast skies.

While we hope the summer season doesn't always look like Joe's paintings, we do love his moody scenes! If you have a taste for atmospheric art, Joe is definitely one to check out! Visit his page on our website to learn more: https://www.peninsula-gallery.com/joe-milligan

Our June exhibition features abstract work from seven artists utilizing paper, mixed media, and fabric collage. One of those artists is a repeat exhibitor at our gallery, Peggy Black.

Peggy Black is an artist from southwestern Pennsylvania. She makes art using fabric — vibrant, original wall quilts — inspired by color, value selection, and abstract patterning. Peggy describes her practice of surrounding herself with cut-out, torn, and found papers, with snippets and remnants of fabric. She arranges and rearranges the little parts until they become stories in her imagination.

"Abstract Constructions" officially opens this Saturday, May 30th, but the artist reception will be held next week, on June 6!

OPENING SATURDAY!

The work of seven artists comes together at the Peninsula Gallery to showcase abstract work utilizing paper, mixed media, and fabric collage. After having met while participating in workshops at the Crow Timber Frame Barn in Ohio, these abstract artists discovered that they share commonalities among their work, making them ideal companions for a group exhibition.

“Abstract Constructions,” which runs from May 30 to June 21, features pieces by Peggy Black, Elizabeth Brandt, Julia Graziano, David Hornung, Sarah Pavlik, Paul Rosenblatt, and Karen Schulz.

NOTE: The opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 6, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm, which is free and open to everyone. Please note that the reception will take place the weekend after the show opens.

Roger Dellar may have returned home to England, but his artwork is still gracing the walls of the Peninsula Gallery!

Roger’s art reflects his keen interest in people and their behavior, as well as the way light transforms a subject. His painting depicts people in everyday situations, captured in an instantly recognizable moment.

You can see this in play with the beautiful rendition of dancers he has available! From ballet to tango, Roger captures the movement of flowing dancers effortlessly!

This is the last week to see Roger Dellar's solo show, Shadow and Light, at the Peninsula Gallery! Make sure you see these pieces in person because the photos don't do the work justice! Visit the exhibition page on our website to learn more: https://www.peninsula-gallery.com/shadow-and-light
