🎃 Celebrate Halloween the 1940s way at Lauer Farms 1944! 🎃

Join us on October 30 - 31, 2026, for a weekend full of WWII living history, engaging tactical battles, interactive speaker presentations, and family-friendly Halloween fun!

Here is what’s in store for the weekend:

**Battles & Skirmishes: Catch live tactical battles each morning and afternoon, plus specialized unit demonstrations.
**1940s Speaker Series: Learn about everything from the Monuments Men and WWII documentation forgery to French Resistance tactics and mountain troops.
**Live Music & Storytime: Enjoy vocal performances by *The Sellers Sisters* on the farmhouse porch and 1940s storytelling on the front lawn.
**Fashion Show & Homefront Demos: Experience vintage fashion, historic lawn games, and traditional food prep in the farmhouse kitchen.
**Halloween Party & Trunk or Treat: Bring the family for vintage games, spooky fun inside the farmhouse, and Trunk-or-Treating on Saturday evening!

• Sunday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

We’re getting closer to the big event October 30th through November 1st. Friendly reminder Friday the 30th we are closed to the public for our school day programing then Saturday the 31st open 10-7 with Tent or Treat from 5-7 and Sunday November 1st 10-3. As always the event is free to the public and no tickets needed.

Since it’s officially fall we can start ramping up for our main event! With how the dates worked out this year we’ve decided to really lean into some additional activities at the farm, we are hosting a “trunk or treat” or more appropriately a “tent or treat” from 5-7 on October 31st. Look for more info to be released in the coming weeks.

CALLING ALL ALLIES! We are almost to our first ever tactical at Auglaize Village this Friday through Sunday. We are very heavy on axis power and would love for more Brits GIs and French resistance forces to join in on the fun. Registration is $25 through the link below or day of in person for $35.

What a wonderful weekend with our friends at the Fort Wayne Railroad for “Rolling Victory”. We were fortunate to catch 765 hauling revenue freight for the Indiana Northeastern Railroad Company on Labor Day. Total consistent 85 grain hoppers, 2 SD-40’s, and SD-9’s a total weight of roughly 3200 tons unassisted till just outside Reading, MI. A great way to celebrate 765’s 82nd birthday by letting her remember what she did in her first life!

It’s shaping up to be a fun and very busy few weeks for us.

This weekend we’re at Fort Fest in Ft Jennings. This is a great timeline event with tons to see and do!

Then over Labor Day we are in NE Indiana with the Fort Wayne Railroad for rolling victory. Fun filled time traveling with authentic period rolling stock and a Lima built steam locomotive.

Mid September we are working with the Auglaize Village for our first ever private tactical Forgotten Fields of 44

Then finally Halloween weekend it’s our main flagship event out at the historic lauer farm park in Lima.

Hey local farmers and gardeners we are thinking of decorating the farm up a little bit for Halloween. This is where we need a little bit of help. We are looking for a half dozen to a dozen corn shocks nothing too large. We’d also be willing to return said corn as well.
