The Museum will return to this year's May 16th South Omaha Cinco de Mayo Parade! Walkers will carry images representing a Century long presence of Mexican American people that built the Foundation now represented by a stronger wave of Latinos in Nebraska.
Honored will be
Gregorio Aguilera, who empowered and became the 1st Executive of the Chicano Awareness Center....
Dolores Wright, a brilliant businesswoman whose restaurant operation was the Hallmark of Mexican American businesses......
don Jose' Ramirez, a Renaissance Homre, who knew no boundaries serving all people....
Veterans will also be honored to include Frank Palma, Ricardo Arellano, Al Martinez Senior, Tony B. Ray,
Merriam Martinez, Mary Louis Plaza.
The Parade starts at 9:30 AM.
The Mexican American Historical Society needs "walkers" to carry images of those honored in the parade. Send me a message or call me at 402-651-0442, so I can brief you on how to find us. Members of Family members honored are enccouraged to be part of our parade unit. .

Greetings to all,
Here is a follow-up to last week's announcing a Community gathering in commemoration of Three Kings Day an effort of the South Omaha History Museum to bring City Folk together to 'break Kings Day Cake" at the Center Mall!

After 49 years being a Chicano activist in Nebraska, I and Linda, have forever reached out to Gente.....that we have known for 1/2 a Century....that Linda and I considered 'carnalitas & carnales...never asking for anything in return except for signs of respecting our Commitment to "self determination and giving back to La Colonia"....this coming Saturday is the latest pursuit for Solidarity and Community Unity. Linda is facilitating a "Corona de Los Reyes" workshop...will have a local South O Cajun band playing....along with Omaha's favorite Troubadour Michael Murphy. For the kids, will have puppeteer Brian Brian W Henning and his puppets....make a statement that places like the South Omaha Immigrant South Omaha Immigrant History Museum is worthy of your support.
