Thom Shock Art I love expressing emotion in my painting and would love the chance to produce a piece for you.

I have always been an artistic person but didn't start painting until around 40 years old. I would observe abstract art and believed I could produce something similar. Never seeking formal instruction, I wanted to paint with complete freedom, preferring to break the rules- not follow them, and finding the imperfection of art much more interesting. I have been inspired by the simplicity of Mark Rot

hko but also the complexity and emotional release of Jackson Pollock. I feel like a kid in Kindergarten when I paint, and have never painted to receive anyone's approval. I am satisfied whether someone loves or hates my work, because either way it has produced an emotional response. I was born and raised in Conway, Arkansas and graduated from Hendrix College in 1986 with a degree in American History.
