Ancient dugout canoe arrives at the Suwannee County Historical Museum.

On loan from the Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida, this dugout canoe was discovered in 1931. Please visit our museum and discover the many interesting and historical donations we are pleased to share with the Public.

Back-to-school giveaway starts tomorrow morning. This is our Military Exhibit at the museum. One of many things to see.

The Suwannee County Historical Museum is helping our local kids with back-to-school supplies. Parents, please bring the kids in for a tour of the museum. Sign our guest book and explore the history of Suwannee County and pick up your free bag to help the kids get off to a good start in 2026.

We appreciate all the concern and well wishes!! The museum is on the road to recovery, but it will take time, energy, and money. Thank you to everyone who asked about helping out, and who has been able to donate. We understand everyone has a lot on their plates right now.

Our hearts are with everyone in Suwannee County and beyond who were impacted by Hurricane Helene. The museum has suffered significant damage. We will not be open to the public tomorrow, and will keep you updated on repairs.
