The Blackhawk Railway Historical Society

The Blackhawk Railway Historical Society Blackhawk is devoted to the research and preservation of America's railroad history (100% Human, NO A.I.!)

Serving Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, the members of the Blackhawk Railway Historical Society have an interest and appreciation of railroad history and are actively involved in its study and preservation. Today's well-chronicled events are the historical record for tomorrow; therefore, we are also actively engaged in documenting today's railroading, too.

Stay safe, hydrate, be a decent person, and enjoy!

The countdown is on. In just a few days, Union Pacific Railroad's legendary Big Boy No. 4014 will roll into West Chicago, bringing one of the largest and most iconic steam locomotives ever built to Illinois' first railroad community. Big Boy is expected to arrive in West Chicago on Tuesday, June 2,....
