Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gloria Harbach family. Her daughter, Joyce, lost her grandson today . Here is the note from Joyce .

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I report the passing of my grandson, Jamie William Raymond. Jamie is the son of Samuel Raymond and Megan Diehl Raymond. He was born May 28, 2022. He died today at Childrens’ Hospital at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center when his sweet little body simply could not endure the multi system assaults. May he dance with the angels for he was surely a sweet little boy. I will carry him in my heart forever.

Spring Mills PA - Bill Crater farm behind the Penns Valley High School on Route 45

In 1773 five settlers and their families arrived in Penns Valley -- Samuel Hoy, John Hall, Daniel Long, George McCormick and John Watson. They had land around Spring Mills. John Watson owned the land that later became the Bill Crater farm.

A band of Senecas, one of the Six Nations allied with the British, came out of the north and raided the region in the spring and summer of 1778. The Continental Congress, as a defensive measure, authorized erecting two official blockhouses in the valley: Potter's, or Old Fort (near the present-day Centre Hall) and Watson's, or Middle Fort (next to the present-day Penns Valley Area High School). The Watson Fort was located on the Bill Crater farm - west of the house.
