Thank you Sara H Khani for the studio visit today. 🙏🏼💫 so nice to share time with you and Ehsan.

Sara uses airbrush, ink washes, colored pencil and more. The imagery is a mix of up-close and distant. The lines of damaged buildings cross and merge with maps, patterned fabrics, leaf and tree forms, and furniture. Emergence and dissipation — simultaneously. I think about precariousness of the structures we live in and the resilience of the human spirit.

“Sustainers of Life” - guided tour today with curators and caro.cecelia … along with a great presentation by one of the exhibiting artists, 💫💫💫 They spoke of the strength and resilience of Native and indigenous women, as well as the often-precarious circumstances through which these women find their way. The conversation reinforced for me the value of looking at the truth of our histories and present day circumstances and making room for necessary reflection and grief. Thank you for a rich experience— lots to think about. 🙏🏼
