The runway is yours. ✨

On Saturday, June 13, MOLAA opens its doors for Pride Series: Banjee Ball x MOLAA, “50 Shades of Purple Kiki Ball” - a night where glamour, creativity, and fierce self-expression take center stage.

We are proud to partner with the Banjee Ball Foundation, a Ballroom-centered organization dedicated to providing creative, educational, and career opportunities to LGBTQIA+ individuals and women. Together, we are bringing the spirit of Ballroom into the heart of our museum community.

MOLAA Zoom Project is back with a new chapter.

In this series, MOLAA Chief Curator Gabriela Urtiaga sits down with some of the most remarkable artists from Latin America and the Latinx community in the United States for an intimate conversation.

This chapter features Los Angeles–based multimedia artist Guillermo Bert, born in Santiago, Chile. His practice weaves together urbanism, displacement, and Indigenous memory across mediums, including textiles, laser sculpture, photography, and film. Over the course of more than 15 years, Bert has collaborated with Mapuche, Navajo, Maya, Mixtec, and Zapotec weavers, embedding QR codes into handmade textiles that, when scanned, connect viewers directly to films featuring Indigenous voices and stories in their own languages.

Joining the conversation is Patrick Frank, author and scholar of modern Latin American art.

Ball culture is art, resistance, and chosen family. This Pride Month, join us for a panel diving into the history and legacy of ballroom — from its roots in Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ communities to its global influence today. We'll explore the origins of houses, legendary competitions, and the artistry of voguing, fashion, and performance.

Hear from three icons who have lived and shaped this culture: Ebony Lane, beloved ball host, drag performer, and mother figure to hundreds of Black and Latino LGBTQ+ youth in LA; Icon Kage Hervé Léger, Detroit-born ballroom legend, co-founder of the House of Prodigy, and founder of the House of Hervé Léger; and Isla Cheadle, founder of Banjee Ball, West Coast Mother of the Haus of Schiaparelli, and Music Director of HBO Max's Legendary.

Three weeks. Three themes. One unforgettable summer... and only a few spots left.

MOLAA's Summer Art & Culture Camp returns with three unique sessions designed to spark creativity and cultural exploration: STEAM Week, Community Week, and Artivism Week.

Starting July 6, young artists will dive into hands-on workshops, music, movement, and storytelling while exploring the richness of Latin American art and culture. From visual and performing arts to language and collaboration, each week offers a new way to create, connect, and express.

Each session culminates in an open house, where campers share their work with family and friends. Teen participants will also develop and present their own self-curated exhibition.

Spaces are filling fast. Only a few spots left in our ages 11-13 groups. Don't wait to secure your spot. Register now before it's too late.
