Art is a process that belongs only to people. Every one of us is born with the ability to create and imagine. It is well known that toddlers and children are forever involved with this beautiful exercise. What may seem surprising – they do not need encouragement to do so – and… rather the opposite happens. The parents and the society trims such behavior due to commonly expected norms to be implemented. That is how the only source of self-doubt, our own philosophy and our own points of view is slowly dissolved.
Here are two incredible facts about art that are almost always omitted:

- ART IS THE ONLY NATURAL WEAPON AGAINST RADICALIZATION.
Trimming exercising art comes with learning the societal obligation and group responsibility, job requirements, financial obligations and much more. Eventually most of us stop practicing art just about when we are 18. Not practicing art opens the door to the replacement - brainwashing and propaganda. Especially when it comes to ideology and dogma. The only source of our own ideas is art. Without art we are only followers.

- PEOPLE WHO GAVE UP ON ART, STILL HAVE THE CHILDHOOD-ART IN THEM.
That is so true. There is always hope for all of us. At any time, we can start practicing art. Writing poetry or drawing for example. That will test us (on an individual level) if we already become followers of other people’s ideology. If we copy others - it would mean - we need plenty of work with art.
Why do you think there is no church promoting art classes? Why is there no dictatorship promoting art classes? Why is there no religion promoting art classes?

Every time the art exercise is removed from our life – we become powerless against brainwashing and propaganda.
Where art flourishes – there is no need for war.
Where art flourishes - there is a chance for happiness.

Great Polish film at the 26th Annual Polish Film Festival Los Angeles!

DISCOVERING EDMUND by Izabela Kolb, documentary, 49 min.
Will be screened on November 23rd at 7:00 PM at Hellada Gallery, 117 Linden Ave, Long Beach. FREE ADMISSION.

Full festival program > www.PFFLA.org

When director Isabella Kolb learned that her great-great-uncle was imprisoned in Stutthof, the first German concentration camp established on Polish soil during the Second World War, she begins an investigation into his story and the camp's little-known history. Despite its significance, Stutthof remains one of the least documented sites of N**i persecution, leaving families of its victims with lingering questions.

Through witness testimonies and archival traces, the film follows Kolb's search for Uncle Edmund and the lives of those who endured Stutthof, offering a quiet reflection on memory, loss, and the lasting echoes of trauma that continue to shape the generations that followed.
