We’re excited to announce that our website just got a major update! While we’ll continue adding more details in the coming weeks, the core of the site is up and running – and we think you’re going to love it.

One big change you’ll notice: the Kite Festival is now woven into our main site so everything’s in one convenient place! 🪁🙌

Take a look, click around, and let us know what you think:

💬 You asked, we answered! Here are a few common questions we’re hearing:

Q: Where’s the kite festival program?
📝 We’re currently working on the 2025 program! This year, we’re going digital — it’s more convenient and helps cut down on printing costs. (We will still have bifolds and sandwich boards with daily events viewable on the beach.)
The program will be available about a week (or more) before the festival.

Q: I want to get an idea of what to expect...
👀 You can view last year’s (2024) program on the website now to get a general idea of events and layout.

Q: Any special guests this year?
🌍 Yes! We're thrilled to welcome Michel Gagnon of Team Coriolis from Canada as our international guest flier!

Q: Are you still accepting vendors?
🛍️ Yes! If you’re interested in becoming a vendor, please email us at [email protected] or visit the website for more details.

Get ready to soar! The Washington State International Kite Festival (WSIKF) is a vibrant, week-long celebration of all things kite, held every year during the third full week of August.

We are delighted to announce a new exhibit... Fighter Kites: Sails that Span the World. Explore the evolution of fighter kites in this exhibit celebrating ancient techniques and modern innovations. Discover distinctive styles from around the world, including commercial designs by Grandmasters, the unique adaptions made by the North American Fighter Kites (NAFKA) group, and the vibrant artistic expressions of Ralph Resnik.

We would like to thank the many contributors, volunteers and staff who donated kites, crafted content and put a fun spin on this exhibit, bringing the vibrant world of fighter kites to life for all to enjoy.

And there has never been a better time to visit the museum! We are celebrating Pacific County's Museum Month for the entire month of May. We are offering buy one, get one 50% off admission and a 10% off store merchandise.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Last evening, a cherished soul, Robert "Rusty" Damiano, took flight into the boundless skies. For years, Rusty dedicated his time as a volunteer at the museum, lending his hands to countless maintenance projects. Yet, his greatest gifts were his warm embrace, captivating stories, and ever-present grin.

When our new Director joined the museum about a year ago, labels were placed on the doors to help her find her way. The maintenance room naturally became "Rusty's Room"—a name that will remain, just as his spirit will always be a part of this place.
